"Show Your Creative Eye with MAKE OVER Eye Liner" Make-Up Competition!

Today i wanna share about the 30 minutes (then suddenly announced as 20 minutes) make-up competition i joined in last week on Sunday, September 29th by MAKE OVER! 

The theme of the MAKE OVER competition was "Show Your Creative Eye with MAKE OVER Eye Liner". It took place at Beauty Bazaar Matahari, Mall Taman Anggrek, Jakarta, Indonesia and was especially held by MAKE OVER for members of IBB (Indonesian Beauty Blogger) only. I originally planned to prepare myself for this competition by finding inspirations for the concept, colors, etc but unfortunately i couldn't because of a work that needed to be done... GAHHH~ T__T

The competition focused on achieving a creative eye make-up look so all of the contestants were allowed to put on make-up on their faces (except the eye make-up, of course) before the competition started (primer, foundie, powder, blush, highlight, shading, lipstick, etc).

When i arrived at the spot, the competition wasn't started yet so i used the time to take pics with my dear fella beauty bloggers and also thought about what kind of eye make-up i should make for the competition as i looked throughly to the MAKE OVER cosmetics... and A-HA! once i swiped on their pigmented green and white eyeliners i knew those babies were gonna do the trick! trololol~ XD

The contestants were divided into 2 batch, the competition was planned to give 30 minutes for each batch (total time : 60 minutes) BUTTTT they suddenly changed it into 20 minutes only (total time : 40 minutes)!! Whaaaaaaaa~~ (O___O) and shortly, the competition finally began!!!

GOSH! 20 minutes went by in a flash! >__< I hurriedly putting on eyeshadows, green and white eyeliners i came across earlier and managed to put on fake lashes in the last 20 seconds or so, lol... it was thrilling yet super FUN~!!! XD

After the competition has ended, Fweegy, Endi, Jesslyn and i did some make-up shopping, grabbed lunchies and hang around for a while at the mall. I always love beauty events because i can meet up with beauty blogger friends!!!  yayyy~ ^___^

Fantasy Make-Up Look : Emotionless Cowboy Lady!

It's October 2nd, woohooo!

Happy Batik day! :D

For those who aren't familiar with "Batik", it's a traditional cloth with some extraordinary patterns from Indonesia, most are produced by using a manual wax-resist dyeing technique.

Anyways, it's been more than half a year that i haven't shared my fantasy make-up creations on my blog and it seems like some of you guys have been missing it, thank you loads for the support!

Yesterday was my free time so i decided to make play with make-up as a "come back" for my fantasy make-up creations on my blog, YAYYY! *throws confetti*

Well, i honestly didn't know what kind of look i wanted to create yesterday because my decision to make a fantasy make-up look was too sudden! I usually thought about the concept first then picked the products i'd be using to interpret the concept.

So yeah, since i had no clue about what i was about to create, i just went with the flow (crazy, i know !!! >__<).  I began to prepare my face as the canvas by applying foundation. I used a foundie which is probably 2 shades lighter to achieve a pale-colored face then filled my eyebrows with purple eyeshadows and applied some colors on my face by using pink - purple - green - yellow - white eyeshadows. Afterwards i didn't know what to do next, lol... so i grabbed black eyeliners from various brands and started drawing some patterns on my face according to my liking, lalala~ XD

I really enjoyed the process until i realized that the result looked somewhat ridiculous... (-____-) but then... it kind of growing on me!

To complete the whole look, i used pale colours to make a gradation on my lips, swiped black nail polish on my nails, picked up my cowboy hat and... VOILA!!! After done with the whole look, i came up with an idea for the concept. 

What's the Story?

It's about a cowboy lady who has been emotionally hurt and betrayed many times by people she wholeheartedly trusted throughout her journey. Drowned in devastation, she reached the point where she lost the capability to express what she feels inside as a shield to prevent people from breaking into her guarded yet fragile heart.

After done taking pics, i removed this heavy make-up using my current favorite make-up remover, Bioderma. Needed some efforts because Bioderma isn't that powerful but definitely an awesome product!!! Read my review HERE

First Blush Box Pre-Launching Exclusive Beauty Box Review

If you're a beauty enthusiast then i supposed you've already known about all the fuss regarding numerous beauty boxes available in Indonesia this year! :D

If you're not familiar with "Beauty Box", it's basically a type of subscription service where customers receive a box filled with samples / full size beauty products (make-ups, skincares) or tools, vouchers, etc. on a monthly basis. This beauty box is delivered right to your address so it's pretty much like getting a beautiful surprise in front of your door each month! Woohoooo~ Sounds exciting, right?

Today, i'm gonna review the newest beauty box in town!

Yes, it's First Blush Box !

Last August, First Blush box team offered to send me First Blush's pre-launching exclusive beauty box and i agreed out of curiosity. (^___^)

Hmm... what kind of beauty box is First Blush? What kind of beauty products would be included inside? I wondered until finally, my very first First Blush box has arrived safely, YAYYY~!

This is the design of the packaging. Whoaaa, triangular? (O__O) how interesting! not the kind of shape i had in mind. There's also a strap on top of it so you can easily carry the box.

...Well, i thought things were perfectly fine.

The box was delivered on time, First Blush team is really nice, the products are cute and all...  UNTIL my fella beauty bloggers and i discovered the 2 Mini O.P.I nail polishes are fake products ! I was really shocked when i found out~!!! (\(>____<)/)

The shock wasn't exactly caused because i wanted to get free original O.P.I nail polishes, i could purchase them anywhere, there are lots of O.P.I stores in the department store, right. I was mostly shocked by the fact this was the First Blush Box's exclusive pre launching edition, means they were just about getting ready to walk into the Beauty Box industry in Indonesia alongside with other big companies as their competitors (Beauty Treats Indonesia, Lola Box, etc.) but how could they have such a poor quality control? :(

I was honestly pretty upset considering the fact they should have tried their hardest to win us over...

I firmly believe in order for services companies to grow, they must first gained trust from their target audiences so that they can develop overtime. 

"Did First Blush Box do this intentionally???"

WAIT, DEAR!!! 

Don't jump to conclusion just yet!!! Few days after the rumours have spread, their team sent a clarification email !!!

As written on the pic above, it's clear that they ACCIDENTALLY bought the fake mini O.P.I  and felt terrible about it. To express their regret, they apologized and promised to send replacements of the fake products with the original mini O.P.I nail polishes to every beauty bloggers they have sent their boxes to. They also ensure us that they would do quality control so this kind of case shall not happen again in the future.

I personally gave props to them for sending us a clarification email to clear up any misunderstanding! They admitted their wrongdoings, hurriedly apologized and offered a solution by sending the original mini O.P.I nail polishes as replacements. I think it's really professional and nice of them.

Packaging

First blush beauty box has an exciting design, it's by far the only triangular shaped beauty box i have ever seen in Indonesia. I love the simplicity of the colors, it's bold yet elegant. 

Quality Control

First Blush Box has given their words. Yes it's a shame that the pre-launching edition didn't go as planned but they ensure that all of the products sent from now on will be ORIGINAL. No more poor quality control. They have learned from the unfortunate fake products incident.

Time of Arrival

The box will arrive at your door on the 4th week of the month. If you're not patient enough then this might be a negative point. I do not mind though, it's like getting a present at the end of the month. lol~ 

Does it worth the money?

First Blush Box costs 168.000 IDR / box, considering the products i got for this price i'd say yes, it's a good buy! (if you buy them separately it will cost you way moreee~) BUT please keep in mind that you will get different products each month, next month's box might be as good / even better / worse than this month's.

This box provides 3 kind of subscription plans, for 1 month / 4 months / 12 months. You can choose the plan which suits you best!
